RHINO Recruiting is a boutique woman owned recruiting agency with extensive experience supporting small startups as well as Fortune 100 companies. With a strong emphasis in diversity and inclusion in the workplace, our team is involved in pro bono mentorship of underserved and disenfranchised talent. Prior to becoming Talent Acquisition professionals, we worked as Software Developers, Creative, Program Managers, and HR professionals and in many prestigious and well-known companies, including Yahoo!, Goto.com, IBM, Symantec, Computer Associates, Unisys, Teradata / AT&T, Form & Substance Inc., CACI Inc., and Motion Pictures of America. Our insider knowledge of the industry and experience at the senior management level positions we have held give us a unique insight into the needs of a hiring manager as well as benefiting our talent pool.   • Angela Connell has a BS degree in Computer Science. She has held various positions in the software industry and moved into management early on in her career and has managed software development, QA and System Administration teams prior to establishing Rhino Recruiting.

  • As an immigrant from Iran, Angela is well versed with the challenges of gender, race, non-native language and cultural differences and is a strong advocate for equality and diversity within the workplace.

  • Angela is uniquely qualified to overcome the challenges of hiring the best candidates both as a talent acquisition professional and a hiring manager. She has worked in different capacities for reputable companies such as Unisys, Teradata/AT&T, IBM, Magnite (Rubicon Project), Xumo, The Bouqs, and Omaze.

  • She has provided pro bono career counseling, coaching, and mentorship to career professionals and college students. She has been on the board of a charter school aiming to provide equal opportunities for the underserved in addition to being involved with educating homeless students.

  • Angela is an avid traveler and patron of performing arts. When she is not working she can be found discovering a new corner of the globe.

  • Dermot Connell has a BS Degree in Computer Science from University College Dublin, Ireland. He has had a distinguished technology career having first started out as a software developer in the field of operating systems development. Over a 15 year period Dermot progressed through technology management ranks to the executive ranks. He has managed a variety of technology teams across the full lifecycle of software product development. His development experience ranges from operating systems to packaged software and the Web. His experiences across these domains have allowed him to develop a detailed understanding of the technologies being used by our clients and the profile and characteristics of the key people needed in order to enable our client’s success. He has held positions with a number of companies including Peerless Systems, Goto.com (now Yahoo Search Marketing) and IBM.

  • Soraya Haroonian has a BS degree in Computer Science from N.J.I.T. She has had a great technology career as a software engineer, software developer, Sr. quality assurance engineer as well as Sr. Internet specialist. She has held various consulting jobs before joining Rhino-recruiting and has worked for reputable companies such as Form & Substance Inc., CACI Inc., Retix, Amber solutions, Motion Pictures of America. Soraya is compassionate and exceptionally competent and has had great success in finding perfect candidates for Rhino Recruiting clients.

  • Karen has almost 20 years of experience as a recruiter in the sphere of web based technology. Prior to joining Rhino Recruiting, she worked in staffing and recruiting for digital agencies, Guidance Solutions and Aydus Consulting. She also has experience working for a technical recruiting company, Technical Connections. These positions, combined with her 10 year career as a Programmer and Technical Project Manager at Hughes Aircraft Company, help her better understand the design and development life cycle and the roles technical people play at work. These insights have proven to be extremely useful when identifying talented Technology candidates.
    Karen earned her degree in Mathematics/Computer Science from the University of California, Los Angeles. She is a Venice, CA native and lives there with her family.
