We are looking for a Lead Operations Engineer as part of its Technical Operations team to ensure the availability, performance, maintenance, and 2nd/3rd level support of our Managed Solr Cloud customers.

What you’ll do

This is a lead role within the Technical Operations team who will:

Lead and Mentor Cloud Operations Engineers spread across 3 shifts in India
Own coding, testing, and successful execution of bash and/or python scripts to automate manual tasks across our 2000+ node infrastructure (AWS, Azure and GCP)
Own coding, testing, and successful execution of ansible jobs required within the technical operations team
Create, Edit and Maintain Standard Operating Procedures and/or Documentation for routinely performed operations tasks;
Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and knowledge transfer to 1st and 2nd level cloud operations and support engineers.
Respond to monitoring alerts and tickets created by our customers or customer-facing teams
Triage customer deployment issues related to operating systems, networking, cloud infrastructure, and application servers (Apache Solr, Zookeeper, NGinx).
Create and review detailed post-mortems for incidents and identify preventative tasks or initiatives to ensure the same issues are mitigated in the future.
Provide high-quality customer support in order to facilitate a high degree of customer satisfaction for all Cloud customers daily. This includes getting on a call with the client when needed.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned, maintain and support infrastructure for all environments.

What we are looking for

Strong Linux and Systems Experience
Strong experience in automating operations tasks in Bash, Python, and Ansible
Cloud-based Infrastructure Management Experience (AWS, Azure)
Experience working and leading support/operations engineers based in India.
Experience working in a customer-facing role within the Technical Operations and/or Support team.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
Openness to new ideas and change, ability to learn, flexibility, adaptability, willingness to innovate, unconventional thinking
